Ron Fields

 

Ron has an extensive 40 plus year history in the dairy industry, including sales, processing, distribution, employee management, and full P&L responsibility. For the last 18 years, El Paso has been home. Ron was asked to become the General Manager for the family owned Farmers Dairies in 1997.  Farmers Dairies was sold to Select Milk Producers in 2006 and he was asked to remain as the General Manager, and since has been named General Manager and President for Farmers Select. 

Ron began his career in the dairy industry with the Dairy Division of the Southland Corporation. He went in to accept a position in Houston, only to be told the job would be in California with the Adohr Division. During the next eight years the following titles were held; Management Trainee, Economist, Sales Rep, Branch Manager, Intercompany Sales Manager, and Sales Manager for Northern California. For most of the title changes, a location change was necessary. The stops included the following California locations; Santa Ana, Southgate, San Jose, and finally San Francisco. He later worked for the Oak Farms Division of the Southland Corporation in Houston and San Antonio where he was the Operation Manager for Central and South Texas.

While students at Tarleton State University, Ron and Valerie were married in 1969 (About 46 years!) and have two daughters and seven grandchildren. 

Ron transferred to Texas Tech University and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics. 

Ron has served on the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, and Council of Arts. In addition, he was President of the Military Affairs Committee; he has received 2 Distinguished Service Awards from the Rotary Club, and was named the Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year. 

Ron has served as Treasurer and Chairman of the Dairy Products Institute of Texas and for the last 14 years on the Board of Directors.

Joe Gomez

 

Joe started his career in the Dairy Industry in 1975 working at Creamland Dairy in Albuquerque, New Mexico and became plant manager there in 1986. He was plant manager at Producers Dairy in California from 2001-2004. Since 2004, he has been with Crest Foods as District Sales Manager.

Joe attended the University of New Mexico for 2 semesters and said “I majored in partying which apparently I was very good at.”  He graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Organizational Management.

Joe has been married to Cathy for 35 years and they have 3 children, Paul, Michael Leigh and Christopher. They have 8 grand children, 4 step grandchildren, and 1 dog.

In addition to a 40 year career so far in the dairy Industry, Joe has been a long time participant and supporter of our Association, including as Treasuer, Vice President, and President of the Longhorns, and a member of the board of directors.
